E Safety

At Tatworth Primary School, E-Safety is a crucial part of our curriculum, reflecting the importance of staying safe in an increasingly digital world. We have integrated comprehensive lessons designed to teach children how to navigate the internet safely, spot potential dangers, and report any concerns.

Our curriculum provides a structured and effective approach to E-Safety with interactive lessons and resources that help children understand online safety in a fun and relatable manner using a suite of digital tools and activities that reinforce safe online practices.

A highlight of our E-Safety education is the annual ‘Safer Internet Day,’ dedicated to reinforcing these critical lessons through engaging activities and discussions. Alongside this, we dedicate one computing lesson each half term to internet and computer-use safety. This follows the requirements of UKCIS framework Education for a Connected World.

In addition to focusing on the risks, our programme also emphasises the positive aspects of the internet. We teach children how to use the internet to spread positivity and engage in constructive online behaviour. This balanced approach ensures that our pupils are not only aware of the dangers but also understand how to use the internet as a force for good.
